North West Passage entry complete - and first 'growler' sighting

Dodo's Delight has turned the corner past Barrow Point and is now heading East.  This is a major milestone in their epic voyage.

First growlers were spotted this morning.

Next stop is 600 miles away - the same distance as the Fastnet race which is currently underway. Although Dodo's Delight will be considerably slower than a racing yacht!

That looks like better progress at last! Hope the passage stays clear for a bit longer and you can make up some time, and no more frustration and hanging around. Enjoy!

DMI the Danish arstic weather reporting station notes that the average temp above 80degree noerth is below freezing now, 2 weeks earlier than the running average. Have you noticed this effect where you are?

Average daytime temp is currently 6 deg C, a little colder at night, plus windchill of course
